When Flying Over Water, is Talia Weisz first book. Talia Weisz was born and raised in Montreal, and is currently a graduate student in Comparative Studies at The Ohio State University. She holds an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and Anthropology from Concordia University. Her interests include oral history, folklore, and community-based theatre. She is the co-editor of Stories from Montreal 3: Ethnographic Accounts of Life in Montreal’s Francophone Metropolis, published in association with the Concordia University Department of Sociology and Anthropology. She is the co-creator of Unravelling Herstory, an autobiographically-based performance piece by Montreal theatre collective Common Thread Productions. Over the years, her writing has appeared in university journals and independent zines. Earlier versions of the first two sections of this book were published by Cumulus Press in Navigating Customs: New Travel Stories by Twelve Writers <25. from When Flying Over Water Marina shows us pictures in an album.
